1) Divide the list up by even and odd. Which group of five would make a better Five Man Band (like a Power Rangers team)? Who would you slot in each position: Leader, Lancer (second-in-command), Big Guy, Smart Guy, The Chick? If you think the team would be improved by swapping one character between the even and odd groups, which ones would you switch?

…THAT’S RIGHT. JULIUS IS THE CHICK. Because despite the fact that Tamyra is the only girl on the team, she’s far more suited to being second-in-command than the obligatory chick. Julius gets the chick slot because Tiberius beat him for big guy by about four inches and a shit ton of muscle mass, and he clearly can’t be the smart guy because he’s a dumbass when it comes to anything but military strategy. Sahir is a billion times more intelligent than him. So Julius is the chick, because the only thing he can do is fight battles. Good job, bud.

Also, Alexi is the leader, despite that he is on a team with a king, a future sultan, and a resistance leader. Because Julius is a failking, Sahir doesn’t like the idea of ruling, and Tamyra only became the leader because other people wanted her to be. Alexi dominates them all with his sheer willpower and ‘listen to me or shut the fuck up’ attitude (...and also because Telemachus would laugh at him if he let someone else boss him around.)

EVEN:

Big Guy: …Dridian?

Chick: Reni

Eli is the leader because he would throw a hissy fit if he wasn’t. And also because he actually is a good leader (if you like being part of sketchy cults). Lyether is his lancer because really, who else would he choose? Geoff is obviously the smart guy, since he’s a sneaky bastard, and Reni is the chick because…well, she is a chick. And she actually does fit into the ‘chick-of-the-team’ role. But lololol Dridian just got big guy by default. Because he’s actually not that big. He might be on the tall side, but he’s thin as a stick.

If we were to switch two? Tiberius and Dridian. Team Even needs a big guy desperately, and Tiberius certainly fills that role nicely. Julius could stop being the chick (lol) and be the big guy for Team Odd, and Dridian could fill Team Odd’s chick position. Because Dridian acts more like a chick than any of the other nine.

…uh. With the possible exception of Eli.

2) Gender-swap 2, 8, & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?

…oh god. Eli, Lyether, and Geoff are all women now, it seems.

None of their personalities would change in the slightest, of course. Eli acts enough like a woman already, Lyether just wouldn’t care, and Geoff would rejoice in the fact that he gets to oogle a pair of boobs whenever he wants without getting slapped across the face for it.

There’s a bit of an issue for Eli and Lyether though: women can’t very well be Princes, can they? (There was only one documentation of that in League history, and this particular girl had to hide her gender her whole life and live as a man.) So uh. That’d be a pretty drastic change.

…Geoff, however, would continue being a stage magician. Only now he’d wear more revealing outfits.

3) Compare the matchups of 1 & 8 and 5 & 9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the moment.) Which couple would be more compatible? Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?

Tamyra & Lyether and Julius & Tiberius.

T&L: …actually, this looks as though it would work out well. In all ways, this is the more ideal couple. They’d get along well, and probably be great friends. Both of them talk very little, and both of them are good at understanding other people. Essentially, if Tam actually got Lyether to care about her, and the other Princes wouldn’t gnash their teeth, and Reni suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth, then this would have the go-ahead.

And on the other hand…

J&T: …LOLOLOLOLOL. OMG. Well, everyone, here we have my two largest male characters. Julius fa Calisio, standing at 6’2” and Tiberius Gala, with a grand height of 6 and a half feet and more rippling muscles than a well-bred race horse. ROFL This would never work out, though. Compatibility is next to nil. Julius is a dork, and Tiberius has severe anger issues. You do the math.

So, no contest.

…wow. That was really easy. I don’t even think I have to explain that one.

5) 7 becomes 1's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?

Sahir becomes Tamyra’s boss? Well, uh. Their working relationship would be just peachy, frankly. Sahir is a nice guy, and Tamyra doesn’t mind being told what to do, when the directions make sense. And it’s not like Sahir would go tell her to commit mass murder, or anything. (I’M LOOKING AT YOU, CHURCH OF THE DIVINE.)

6) 2 finds him/her/itself inserted into 6's continuity. As far as anyone other than 2 or 6 is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 2 be presumed to have had in 6's story, and could they fit in without going wonky?

Eli’s in Myth City, huh? Oh snap.

Eli absolutely would not fit in without screwing everything up. Because the very first thing he would do is find a clever way to usurp the Church, and make himself The Divine. (lololol) Reni, quite honestly, would hate him as a person—especially once he started making the Church into, well, the League. So then it’d become Tamyra and Reni’s resistance force vs Eli. Which would be kind of epic, actually.

7) 3 and 5 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?

Alexi and Julius? LOL

Well, they’d come up with a working system, I think. They would each get one wish for themselves, which the other would agree to, so that it would happen. Their third wish would somehow benefit both of them, so that they split everything evenly.

So Alexi would wish ~~that he was actually straight and could go back in time so that he could marry Clytemnestra Ruefel because she was such a bitch and he loved her for it~~ …I mean uh. He’d wish for…a pony. Or something. *shiftyeyes*

Julius would wish for the complete annihilation of the League of Princes. Pretty drastic, but that’s what would need to happen to get the war to stop. And that’s what he wants, ultimately. He hates being in conflict with his sister, and he doesn’t like the Princes from the League one bit anyway. (Especially when they try to take Raz away.) Also, like the good military leader he is, he hates to see his men die. So that’d really be pretty obvious for him.

And together, they would wish for…hm. Oh, I know. They’d want to have an epic grand feast and invite all their buds. Stipulations for this feast would be that Alexi was not required to do any work himself. At all. xD Oh, and it’s to be held ON A BOAT. Because that would be AWESOME.

8) 1 and 2 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind control to attack and kill 4. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 4 survive? How?

Nope. Sorry Dridian, but ya done. lol there is no way in hell he’d survive if Tamyra and Eli came after him working together. Sorry bud.

9) 6, 7, 9 & 10 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a visit from Santa?

Reni, Sahir, Tiberius, and Geoff.

…surprisingly, those kids would end up with a pretty good Christmas. Wow. That was unexpected.

(Good thing it wasn’t like. Eli, Alexi, Dridian, and Lyether. Because those four would do absolutely nothing, because they do not care about depressed children in the least. They’d probably sit around in a circle in the living room and gossip and file their nails or something as all the poor kids cried.)

Reni would be the manager. She would make Tiberius dress up as Santa. Tiberius would hate it and probably have a bitch fit and throw a few tables across the room when she told him to do it, but luckily Reni, Sahir, and Geoff aren’t the type to be terrified by his raging bull tendencies, like some might be. But eventually he would do it. He’d be kind of awkward, and glare at Reni for half the time, but that's all right.

Geoff would perform Christmas-themed magic tricks for the kids, and generally be happy and nice, because when you get down to it he is happy and nice, and he does like kids.

Sahir would get an elf hat stuck on him, and help the kids decorate the Christmas tree. Of course, Sahir is a really good guy, and also likes kids, and is generally good with them, despite his quiet, reserved nature. He’d let the kids climb all over him and everything, and lift them up to put on ornaments, and generally be really helpful.

Reni, when not making sure things are running smoothly, would read the kids Christmas story books. Overall, it’d actually be a really nice time.

10) 3 and 8 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally distracted by sidequests or their own personality conflicts?

Alexi and Lyether, huh? GO GO GO.

They could definitely do it, no problem. They’re both fucking powerful magicians. What do you expect? They’d actually even get along too, mostly because Lyether is just all ‘yeahwhatevs as long as I don’t have to do anything nice for anyone or anything’ and of course when does Alexi do anything nice for random strangers, so that’s not an issue.

They’d probably go hot air balloon, since that seems most fun. ♥

I haven't posted in an absurdly long time, so I am now.

Happy 2009 everyone, and all that. Here's to this year (hopefully) being better than the last.

Vacation's over, and tomorrow is Friday--the end of the first week back. There's next week, and then there's a long weekend because of MLK day, and then it's...midterms.

Christ.

Not looking forward to these midterms one bit, since they're all going to kick my ass.

AP American History II? Soooo kicking my ass
Latin III? Sooooooooo kicking my ass to high fucking heaven.
Algebra II? Ass-kick, since I fail at math in general.
Honors English III? Probably even this is kicking my ass, since it'll be including so much on it. (Not to mention the impending Bible test on Monday. I'm better off than most kids will be though, that's for sure.)

In fact, the only thing that's probably not going to kick my ass is Sociology. (Damn, I love that class.) I've gotten a 'HOO YAH!' on all of my tests for that class so far, so I think I'm probably all set. Soc is only a semester class though, so I'm going to be crying next week when it's over. It's the one class I always look forward to every day. We always have such great discussions, and talk about very serious things in a very serious way. But still, it always manages to be so funny. And Tasker is, of course, the awesomest. He's seriously done and seen everything, man. I swear. The damn Swede.

And as if the loss of soc weren't bad enough in and of itself, it's being replaced by either Phsy Ed. (aaaaaagh) or Ecology. Ecology won't be so bad (especially if I have it with Ellie-Bee), but. Phys Ed. Gahhh. The bane of my life, I swear. Jesus Fucking Christ.

Oh yeah, and I'll have Wellness too. (WTF. Why can't they just call it what it is? Do they think we can't handle having a class called 'Sex Ed?') Which will effectively eliminate my very helpful once-a-day study hall. Greeeat. Just what I need.

Anyway, tomorrow's a T day. (Or so I think. Stupid fucking new schedule.) So I'll get out a little early--thank God for open campus. It's a truly beautiful thing. (Too bad I'll lose a large chunk of mine along with my once-a-day study hall. God damn it.)

However, on a lighter note, Coll made me feel very happy this evening by writing something wonderful for me! Thank you, Coll. <3 Our discussion about trips and visitations also served to lighten my mood considerably, too. I sure hope things can work out as planned when summer rolls around. (Which is sadly still much too far away. As much as I don't want to keep on growing up, I still kind of just want junior year to be over already.)

Danielle is also awesome, as usual. (Duh.) We'll be having a Gangland night tomorrow night (Gangland, fuck yeah!) and starting to study for AP History together. History is hilarious, and we intend to make full use of that fact as a studying mechanism! The two of us are good at bringing on the lulz, so hopefully we'll have enough history-oriented inside jokes by the time the midterm rolls up that we'll actually be able to remember shit and do well.

Good plan, huh?

I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY.

I'm going to miss it though, I think. Playing Georgia Styles (or, as Danielle put it, "The Bitch") was great fun. I got to be terribly, horribly mean and stuck-up without any consequences. It was awesome.
Ah, well. I suppose that means I'll just have to try out for Domina in the spring musical. (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.) Although I don't think I will, actually. Because that'd mean I would be essentially playing the same role twice. And also because I'm planning to try out to be one of the twins with Lydia. Lydia's such a bitch. I love her to death.

I so can't believe they're starting spring musical tryouts on monday though. Seriously. Can I get a break, please? Just a little one?

It kind of pisses me off.

But oh well. The fall play was great, which is all I really care about. Fall play is so much more fun than the spring musical. (Even though it's totally unappreciated, and pretty much no one comes to see it.)

Oh, and by the way: I'll post the videos Danielle took of a couple of scenes when I get them uploaded. <3

So, I wrote this here Kyou Kara Maou thing today, on a whim. I don't usually let people other than Coll or Danielle read my fic, but I decided to post this one, for whatever reason.
It's for Coll, since we were talking about KKM-ice skating on our date last night, and the idea just wouldn't leave me alone until I'd written it. Ahaha. xD

Yuuri hadn’t even known that it snowed in Shin Makoku at all, until, well…it had.

It wasn’t as if Yuuri was a stranger to snow. He’d seen it before, but…the snow he was used to wasn’t quite like this. In Shin Makoku, it snowed and snowed, until there were drifts and banks ranging in height from as tall as Greta to taller than Gwendal. It was extraordinary, really. Yuuri had never seen so much snow in one place before!

On the first day that it was clear enough, Cheri-sama had eagerly suggested that they all go ice skating. The sheen of ice which covered the main courtyard did nicely, and before long, there were at least twenty of them outside, either on the ice or around it. Cheri skated about gracefully, decked out in a thick fur coat, with a matching muffler. Everyone clapped when the lady preformed a twirl and then a jump. She herself grinned and exclaimed, “Oh, you flatter me!”

“I didn’t know Cheri-sama could do that.” Yuuri mused. (Completely disregarding the fact that he hadn’t even known skating existed in Shin Makoku until today.)

“Mother has always been an accomplished skater.”

Yuuri half-turned to face Wolfram, who’d come to stand beside him. Before Yuuri could speak a response, however, Wolfram informed him, “You forgot your hat.” And proceeded to tug the knit, bear-eared thing down over his ears, so that, once again, the two of them matched. Yuuri didn’t protest. Even if a little strange, the hat was still very warm.

They stood in silence for a moment, before Yuuri asked, “Do you skate too, Wolfram?”

The blond lord nodded. “Not as well as Mother.” He conceded. “But I know how.”

Smiling, Yuuri nodded. “That’s great! So did your whole family used to skate together?” He wondered, eager, as usual, to know more.

Again, Wolfram nodded. “We still do.” He responded, and pointed out to the ice. Yuuri’s eyes followed Wolfram’s finger, and his smile widened. Gwendal was shuffling along, not so much actually ‘skating’ as just walking on the ice with skates on. He looked a little bit miserable, wearing a thick coat and a knit hat adorned with a light pink pom-pom at the top. Anissina was skating backwards in front of him, her hands outstretched to meet his, which were holding hers in a white-knuckled grip, as if he were afraid that if he let go, he would fall over.

“Gwendal! Pick up your pace!” Yuuri could hear the inventress exclaim, “Honestly! Perhaps I should drag out ‘Ultra-Fast-Turbo-Skater-kun’ again this year!”

He may have just been imagining it, but Yuuri was fairly certain that, at that, Gwendal began shuffling a little more quickly.

On the other side of the rink, Conrad was skating contentedly. He was engaged in an amiable chat with Murata, who was skating alongside him. When he noticed Yuuri looking, Conrad flashed a smile at the king, which Yuuri returned, along with a little wave. Before long the two of them were joined by Yozak, who glided up from behind them, and swung between them, draping one arm across his Captain’s shoulders, and the other over the Great Sage’s.

“Are you going to skate too, Wolfram?” Yuuri couldn’t help but wonder, turning to his fiancé with a quizzical expression.

Wolfram regarded him with a level stare as he returned the Maou’s question with a question of his own. “Are you?”

Yuuri considered this. It wasn’t as if he was terrible at skating—he’d gone with his own family before. And there were certainly enough pairs of ice skates to go around. It seemed like fun, too—why not? He nodded, and Wolfram smiled a little. “Then I am.”

It didn’t take long for the pair of them to retrieve ice skates and slip them on. Soon, they were out skating as well, and Yuuri learned that Wolfram certainly had much more aptitude for it than his eldest brother (who hadn’t even made it around the rink once yet, even with Anissina’s help). But then again, it appeared, it didn’t take much to have more talent for skating than Gwendal.

Hey, even Yuuri was doing all right! He skated a few laps around the perimeter of the ring with Wolfram and Gisela (who had temporarily left Gunter to his own devices for the moment, in order to join them) without any incident. It was only after Gisela left their little trio on the excuse that she couldn’t trust her father by himself on skates for too long that something happened.

The front of Yuuri’s left skate caught on the ice, and he stumbled. Wolfram, who was skating a little ways in front of him, turned around, eyes widening as Yuuri, flailing in a failing attempt at trying to right himself, made straight for him, unable to stop and/or control his movements.

“Wimp! Stop, what are you doing, wait—” Wolfram’s frantic shouts did no good. They collided, and toppled over—Wolfram fell onto the nearby snow bank, and Yuuri tumbled square on top of him.

They simply lay there for a moment, both stunned. Wolfram, however, was the first to move and speak. Yuuri was fully expecting to be chastised and shoved off, to be called a wimp at least a few times, and to be told he was a terrible skater. So, it came as a bit of a surprise to him when Wolfram, green eyes full of concern, questioned, “Are you all right, Yuuri?”

Dumbfounded, Yuuri nodded silently, indicating that yes, he was fine. He was just about to ask Wolfram the same when, to his surprise, the blond smiled, and Wolfram’s arms reached up to wrap around him, pulling him into an impromptu embrace. He felt Wolfram’s lips against his neck, could feel when he inhaled, and when he exhaled, his breath warm and somehow reassuring. It seemed that all they did for a long moment was simply exist—nothing but them and the snow bank.

That was, until Wolfram began to laugh.

At first, Yuuri actually didn’t hear it as much as he felt it in the tremors of the lord’s body. But, as Wolfram’s lips were still resting unobtrusively against his neck, he couldn’t help but hear it before long. And again, it was a surprise—Wolfram was really, genuinely laughing. And it appeared that Wolfram’s laughter was contagious, because, before long, Yuuri was laughing right along with him.

It was completely unexpected, therefore, when Wolfram extracted one arm from their embrace, in order to gather a handful of snow and dump it unceremoniously over Yuuri’s head.

Yuuri sat up quickly and scrambled backward, spluttering, which only caused Wolfram to laugh harder as he sat up, his back covered in snow from lying on the bank.

“What was that for?!” The Maou demanded to know, brushing snow out of his hair with a sort of sulky scowl aimed in Wolfram’s direction.

“You’re such a wimp!” The accusation didn’t seem as harsh as usual, probably because of the fact that Wolfram was still laughing as he said it. “You’re a terrible skater!”

Well. It was at least a little comforting for Yuuri to know that he hadn’t misjudged Wolfram completely.

“I just…tripped!” Was Yuuri’s somewhat weak defense. “Anyone can trip!”

Wolfram was standing up, now, and he offered a hand to help Yuuri up as well, which the black-haired boy took. “But not everyone does.” Wolfram replied with a smirk, which quickly transformed into his ‘long-suffering’ expression, as he let out a long-winded sigh. “Well,” he said, “since I’m fated to have a wimp as a fiancé, I suppose nothing else can be done.” He extended his right hand, which Yuuri looked at quizzically, until Wolfram explained, “I’ll keep you from falling.”

Wisely, Yuuri decided that it was best not to argue with Wolfram on this matter, given that he had just fallen spectacularly.

He reached out, and took Wolfram’s outstretched hand.

Regrettably, we never actually see Aoki's wife, so I can't really provide a picture of them together. So I just gave you Aoki. =D
Anyway. So, guys. I actually ship Aoki with his wife. Whom he loves dearly. And is married to. Or, at least, loves enough to divorce when the battle gets rough.
Not that I don't adore the relationship between Karen and Aoki. Because I do. And I have no doubt at all that Karen has feelings for him--or even that he might have feelings for her. But Karen...she wouldn't ever try to get between Aoki and his family. She just wouldn't. In fact, I can imagine her being a very good family friend, were the end of the world thing not so...well, pressing. Karen is the type to suffer in silence, and I feel terrible for her, yes, and yet I love her so much for being that way. Because Aoki loves his family. He's a true family man. I just like to believe that those kind of all-around good guys are still out there, y'know?
Karen's right: they're all either taken or gay. (Or, in some cases, both.)

5. Yuuto x Satsuki

Adkjfaldfkajldlalkaj. Why do people not like this pairing as much as they should? Do I have to spell it out for you?
YUUTO. IS. THE. ONLY. HUMAN. SATSUKI. CARES. ABOUT.
And also: BEAST, Satsuki's only 'lover,' feels threatend by Yuuto. If those aren't indicators for a ship, then you tell me what is, because I'm obviously blind.
Maybe people don't like this pairing because they don't like Satsuki? I don't know why. I love the human-hating bored-with-the-world anti-social computer girl to bits.

4. Sorata x Arashi

O-oh my goodness. Sorashi. This pairing is love. Absolute love. Sorata confessed to her the first time they met. Arashi obviously returns his feelings. Sorata's such a wonderful guy, and he's destined to die for her. They sleep together. Arashi looses sword. She betrays everyone to protect him, even though she's clearly not mentally stable herself, and he still loves her so much, and oh my goodness, I could go on and on about these two. They're lulzy (so much lulz <3), they're serious, they're all-around dysfunctionally wonderful.
Please CLAMP. Continue X if only so that I can see how things go for Sorata and Arashi?

Well. First off: Coll, I blame you for converting me. This pairing is...wow. Just...amazing, actually. So, yeah. Yuuri's an idiot. Wolfram's a romantic. They're so fucking lulzy. Obviously, anyone who's seen KKM knows that. ("You wimp!" / "I'm not a wimp!" / "You cheater!" / "I'm not cheating on you!")
And that's only the tip of the iceburg. We could sink the fucking Titanic with this one.
...and yes, I used that lame metaphor just for Yuuri. (You're such an epic failure, Yuuri. I love you.)
But it's not just the lulz (though the lulz are great). Wolfram is seriously in love. He's confessed it time and again, shown it even more than that--but Yuuri is dense. It's part of the reason we adore him so. And though I doubt it'll happen in the actual show, I still hope that he'll come around someday. Because I mean, seriously. Yuuri was able to change Wolfram--for the better. And the way they are with Greta? I awwwww. So much. They're such doting parents, and it's wonderful to watch. Not to mention, both of their families are all for it! Ahaha.
And also: just because Wolfram is a prettyboy (as Yuuri so tactfully put it himself the first time he saw our bratty young lord) doesn't mean that he's some...girl! He's totally not. At all. He's a fucking soldier, for God's sake! He's not weak. He's not passive. And Yuuri? He's not agressive, and he's never really even considered kissing anyone in his whole life! C'mon people. Smarten up. People need to stop with the bad characterization of both Yuuri and Wolfram. Because it isn't cool.

Do I honestly have to explain this one? These two are and have been my favorite pairing for years. I love them through all the stages of their relationship--which, of course, changes dramatically from TB to X, and all the way through to the bitter end. They're my awful, horrible, beautiful, yin-yang, tragic, heart-wrenching, 'oh-god-why?', wonderful, unperfectly perfect OTP. And? They're canon. Can't beat that.

Well. Today was the first day back. I actually really enjoyed it. My courses are good, my teachers are good.
